The aim of this project was to design a fresh and unique interior for a new Camile Thai restaurant in Navan, while retaining all the great, well known aspects of the brand. The space was to be bright and playful, with a slight feminine touch. Utilising a lively palette of pastel colours, graphic tiles and interesting lighting, we created a space that feels cheerful and fun. We played with strong graphics on the walls, using just paint, and overlaid C-shaped wall suspended tables, for a visually dynamic and family friendly space.

As sustainability is an issue we feel passionate about, and Camile have strong ethos on, we incorporated environmentally friendly materials such as natural rattan and cane finishes throughout the space, as well as hanging foliage to create a raw and organic atmosphere. We also partnered with Smile Plastics, who manufacture a range of materials made from recycled plastic waste, to make the tabletops and counters in the restaurant. The particular material we chose was made from recycled waste yoghurt pots, and the dancing glints of foil add a playful touch to the important message of sustainability.
